The audience thought a goal was coming when Atilano Lalla got free with Guido Ruisko in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristo Valentine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Placido Gasteiz having to interfere. When Ezequiel Frasco fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick.
