The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fulgencio Santxol to strike the kick off in the second half. If Jairo Millano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roberto Ignatius took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fulgencio Santxol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Reynaldo Quinto during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 58 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Macio's goalkeeper Roberto Ignatius, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jairo Millano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roberto Ignatius having to interfere. If Fulgencio Santxol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute, Jairo Millano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 81st minute Jairo Millano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Ignatius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ahmet Hafiz Başer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raimundo Otsando, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. A collision led to Melgar getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Modest Osa hit a great ball. Reynaldo Quinto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 94th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Roberto Ignatius. Macio's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Melgar's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
