In the 24th minute, Eduardo Iaki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Rafael Fanuco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 30 minutes into the match, Real Chivas's Angelo Afonso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Godofredo Beltran narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Angelo Afonso hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Selvas AFC's zone, Angelo Afonso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Godofredo Beltran came out of the goal and Angelo Afonso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gustavo Cefero was the one to do the kick off. Rafael Fanuco ran back to his position shaking his head. 88 minutes into the match, Selvas AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Fanuco came free, but Godofredo Beltran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Real Chivas booed when Selvas AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcos Cordarius didn't get a good kick on the ball. Angelo Afonso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
