Spectators: 6689 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1689, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Fernan Estefan got the match started through his kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Varela AFC's zone, Fernan Estefan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alejandro Sesuldo came out of the goal and Fernan Estefan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Varela AFC booed when Guzmán AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Mouricio didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Severino Mitxel came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Varela AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severino Mitxel couldn't finish the play. If Severino Mitxel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felipe Manex sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Varela AFC's Elias Remicio got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Guzmán AFC booed when Varela AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severino Mitxel didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 22 minutes of play, Varela AFC's Felipe Manex made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aaron Mercurio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Severino Mitxel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Severino Mitxel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aaron Mercurio was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Varela AFC's Felipe Manex got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 34 played minutes Varela AFC got a freekick which was hit by Guido Fresco. Felipe Manex fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aaron Mercurio having to interfere. Aaron Mercurio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severino Mitxel, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Severino Mitxel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Guzmán AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Varela AFC were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Felipe Manex to strike the kick off in the second half. Severino Mitxel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aaron Mercurio having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abel Mouricio during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Guzmán AFC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Abel Mouricio hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Varela AFC's Astor Lekubegi tried to score from far away in the 62nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Alejandro Sesuldo came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Guzmán AFC's Fernan Estefan. But to his dismay, Fernan Estefan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After some careless play in the Guzmán AFC defense, Severino Mitxel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aaron Mercurio. The Guzmán AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aaron Mercurio should have stopped the shot. If Fernan Estefan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 86 minutes, Severino Mitxel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Varela AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Severino Mitxel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 93rd minute by Felipe Manex got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Severino Mitxel's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 95thth minute, Aaron Mercurio skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Varela AFC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
