Edgardo Bordat made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Lucas Erramu sent off a good shot on target. Edgardo Bordat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquin Gau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes into the match, Teofilo Tabb had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Christian Tebaldo. Darwin FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Teofilo Tabb was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Braulio Bordat's late challenge caught a Darwin FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Braulio Bordat helped the player get up and apologised. The long shot by Simon Arlo in the 20th minute really tested Edgardo Bordat's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Christian Tebaldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfonso Gelacio in the 28th minute of play. Quilmes's Edgardo Bordat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquin Gau in the 31st minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Joaquin Gau got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 34th minute, Braulio Bordat hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Darwin FC were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after Quilmes's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dante Txaran took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Laureano Gorbea got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Edgardo Bordat quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alfonso Gelacio was the one to do the kick off. Joaquin Gau received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Edgardo Bordat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Christian Tebaldo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Gelacio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Joaquin Gau's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edgardo Bordat was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. Teofilo Tabb recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Quilmes's Angelo Arano got a free kick in the 74th minute. Darwin FC's Lucas Erramu got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joaquin Gau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
