Carlos Illan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edgard Tirso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Angelino Arano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jeremias Suero went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Pedro Musko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Musko could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Edgard Tirso made a huge save. Bernardino Tipi hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After 19 minutes, Severiano Arnau mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Escalada FC and the Monteagudo AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 20th minute of the match Esteban Patrido sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edgard Tirso skillfully saved the ball. Carlos Illan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bernardino Tipi during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bernardino Tipi hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. After 39 minutes, Jeremias Suero made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Monteagudo AFC's Angelino Arano tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Edgard Tirso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedro Musko in the 45th minute. Monteagudo AFC's Carlos Illan got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomás Silbestre made a kick off. A hard shot 56 in the game by Jeremias Suero from a close distance when the talented Angelino Arano managed to make a qualified save. Monteagudo AFC's players were relieved. After 57 played minutes Monteagudo AFC got a freekick which was hit by Hipolito Shepherd. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomás Silbestre in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Angelino Arano saved Monteagudo AFC from getting behind. In the 60th minute Pedro Musko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard Tirso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jeremias Suero got free with Angelino Arano in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Angelino Arano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jeremias Suero went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Tomás Silbestre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Angelino Arano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee gave Escalada FC a penalty, 75 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jeronimo Santos, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Monteagudo AFC's Angelino Arano. 0-4. Angelino Arano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomás Silbestre in the 81st minute of the match. Tomás Silbestre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelino Arano having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Pedro Musko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monteagudo AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Musko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgard Tirso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 88 minutes, Jeremias Suero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Escalada FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jeremias Suero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With an all-out effort, Escalada FC's Angelino Arano threw himself towards the right post 90 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tomás Silbestre, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jeremias Suero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Angelino Arano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Escalada FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
