Mario Nel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Benicio Bonadona tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Armando Eliazar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benicio Bonadona having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mario Nel in the 38th minute of play forced SANTOS E.V's goalkeeper Benicio Bonadona to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Armando Eliazar to make the kick off. Teofilo Hug fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 50th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adan Oton having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gogo Etxeberri in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adan Oton saved Lagunita AFC from getting behind. After a rather tough play, SANTOS E.V's Emiliano Macario got a free kick in the 57th minute. 58 minutes into the match, SANTOS E.V's goalkeeper Benicio Bonadona had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mario Nel. Gogo Etxeberri struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Adan Oton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SANTOS E.V. Eriberto Montay kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Gogo Etxeberri put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Adan Oton. In the 72ndth minute of the game Armando Eliazar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SANTOS E.V's Benicio Bonadona was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Teofilo Hug's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adan Oton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. Lagunita AFC's Armando Eliazar got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Armando Eliazar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benicio Bonadona showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Eliazar in the 92nd minute of the match. When Mario Nel came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Lagunita AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mario Nel couldn't finish the play. Lagunita AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
