The tension between the Ampata and the Potros Diaz players grew even worse after the yellow card. Potros Diaz's Humberto Monico suffered a concussion in the 32nd minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. During the 32nd minute of the match Artemio Jax completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Artemio Jax a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Artemio Jax hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute, Carolo Rioja got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cornelio Izel made a kick off.
