The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 4th minute of the game. One of Kosteños:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Fanegas FC:s goal. A collision led to Fanegas FC getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Carmelo Bertin hit a great ball. Victorino Laurgain came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Kosteños's Stig-Ove Lundblad. But to his dismay, Stig-Ove Lundblad quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Qerim Shala in the 21st minute of play forced Fanegas FC's goalkeeper Victorino Laurgain to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Carmelo Bertin fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fanegas FC's protests and gave Carmelo Bertin a yellow card for diving instead. Carmelo Bertin hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Qerim Shala might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Victorino Laurgain. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Qerim Shala ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alejandro Jatsu got free with Oswaldo Murillo in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 32 minutes into the game, Kosteños's Eugenio Chayo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Victorino Laurgain made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Erich Gronow received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Oswaldo Murillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thiago Alcántara kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Fanegas FC's Victorino Laurgain played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rareș Taşcău in the 42nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alejandro Jatsu in the 44th minute of play forced Kosteños's goalkeeper Oswaldo Murillo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stig-Ove Lundblad to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Eugenio Chayo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Victorino Laurgain. That made the score 1-3 in the 52 minute of play. Fanegas FC's Melquiades Iratzeder was substituted for Eloy Caton. Oswaldo Murillo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alejandro Jatsu, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Antoni Amorebieta hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Stig-Ove Lundblad struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Victorino Laurgain didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kosteños. In the 67th minute, Qerim Shala got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Qerim Shala struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Victorino Laurgain didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kosteños. After some careless play in the Fanegas FC defense, Stig-Ove Lundblad kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Victorino Laurgain. The Fanegas FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Victorino Laurgain should have stopped the shot. Fanegas FC's Victorino Laurgain proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Fanegas FC from getting a goal against them. 77 minutes into the match, Kosteños's Eugenio Chayo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Victorino Laurgain narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kosteños's Oswaldo Murillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erich Gronow in the 79th minute of play. Stig-Ove Lundblad's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Victorino Laurgain read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Fanegas FC's zone, Eugenio Chayo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victorino Laurgain came out of the goal and Eugenio Chayo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Stig-Ove Lundblad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Kosteños's Eugenio Chayo got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fanegas FC's Victorino Laurgain proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Fanegas FC from getting a goal against them. Teobaldo Theodore's late challenge caught a Kosteños's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Teobaldo Theodore helped the player get up and apologised. In the 95th minute, Teobaldo Theodore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
