Anier Efraim started the match with the kick off. When Astor Abar came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the AFC Ajax fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Astor Abar couldn't finish the play. Tigres UANL's Rogelio Maju suffered a sore thigh after 10 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Tigres UANL made a substitution. Samuel Etxahun replaced Rogelio Maju. After a rather tough play, AFC Ajax's Ambrosio Martino got a free kick in the 12th minute. AFC Ajax's Astor Abar got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 20 minutes, Astor Abar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFC Ajax's supporters crossed their fingers, but Astor Abar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Serafin Raebert charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Serafin Raebert the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 27th minute, Serafin Raebert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eusebiu Tender showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denis Maule in the 29th minute of the match. After 30 minutes, Denis Maule made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Tigres UANL's Eusebiu Tender tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Eusebiu Tender took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Astor Abar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute, Froilan Monte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 44 minutes of play, AFC Ajax's Denis Maule made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eusebiu Tender was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half AFC Ajax were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

53 minutes into the match, AFC Ajax's Astor Abar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eusebiu Tender narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Denis Maule struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Eusebiu Tender didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AFC Ajax. Astor Abar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Eusebiu Tender made a huge save. 62 minutes into the match, Anier Efraim had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulino Ramos. AFC Ajax's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anier Efraim was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. The supporters of Tigres UANL booed when AFC Ajax was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ambrosio Martino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Niceto Mirande kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Placido Miro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 80 minutes into the match, Tigres UANL's goalkeeper Eusebiu Tender had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Astor Abar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denis Maule in the 83rd minute of play forced Tigres UANL's goalkeeper Eusebiu Tender to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rene Harriet lost his temper 84 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 93 minutes into the match, Anier Efraim notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of AFC Ajax's Paulino Ramos. Paulino Ramos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match was over AFC Ajax could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Tigres UANL throughout the match.
