Eliseo Telmo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. CF Leones's Eliseo Telmo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgard Llope in the 23rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roque Guib in the 25th minute of play forced FC Colibries's goalkeeper Remigio Estebe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Uriel Iturri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roque Guib fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remigio Estebe having to interfere. The supporters of CF Leones booed when FC Colibries was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Evarado didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Uriel Iturri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lucio Ponce, 43 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Eliseo Telmo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgard Llope in the 45th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roque Guib to strike the kick off in the second half. When Edgard Llope came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the FC Colibries fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgard Llope couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the CF Leones defense, Benicio Tonete kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eliseo Telmo. The CF Leones fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eliseo Telmo should have stopped the shot. Edgard Llope fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliseo Telmo having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benicio Tonete got free with Eliseo Telmo in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mateo Urko hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Uriel Iturri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remigio Estebe having to interfere. In the 78th minute, CF Leones's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Benicio Tonete fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Edgard Llope sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Remigio Estebe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roque Guib, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roque Guib received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Remigio Estebe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st minute of the match CF Leones got a corner. FC Colibries's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jaime Lugo ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Jaime Lugo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Colibries's Remigio Estebe did a great save. Eliseo Telmo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benicio Tonete in the 93rd minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FC Colibries walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
