Lino Viviano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Celedonio Stephen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santos Licerio, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 42nd minute, Lino Viviano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Evaristo Patxi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geronimo Guib in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The supporters of Palmas AFC booed when El Chavo del 8 FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zeledon Checa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th minute Arnulfo Ortle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evaristo Patxi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. El Chavo del 8 FC's Evaristo Patxi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnulfo Ortle in the 62nd minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, El Chavo del 8 FC's goal looked a bit too open when Arnulfo Ortle came free, but Evaristo Patxi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in El Chavo del 8 FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 79th minute. Penalty! Evaristo Patxi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnulfo Ortle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 91 minutes, Lino Viviano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palmas AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lino Viviano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There was no doubt that Palmas AFC were the better team. Palmas AFC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
