After 14 played minutes América got a freekick which was hit by Octavio Arnas. The audience held their breath when Delmar Betadur in the 16th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Ciro Santo's left hand side. Abel Bastia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vojtěch Lidman in the 18th minute of play. In the 21st minute Francisco Fertus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciro Santo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lázaro Frisco got free with Abel Bastia in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 34 minutes into the match, Guanaco FC's goal looked a bit too open when Vojtěch Lidman came free, but Abel Bastia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The América fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. With 74 minutes on the clock, Octavio Arnas commited a dangerous tackle.
