Desiderio Peyo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Celedonio Abajas's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. Desiderio Peyo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Paulo Hermes in the 15th minute of play. After 16 minutes, Zé Paulo Hermes made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Carranza's Desiderio Peyo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Desiderio Peyo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomás Madaleno went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Desiderio Peyo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zé Paulo Hermes's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. If Zé Paulo Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Desiderio Peyo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Paulo Hermes in the 26th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Carranza's goal looked a bit too open when Celedonio Abajas came free, but Desiderio Peyo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomás Madaleno scored 0-4 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Desiderio Peyo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 31 minutes into the game, Tarcisio Mello was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Desiderio Peyo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celedonio Abajas, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Desiderio Peyo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celedonio Abajas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the match, Tomás Madaleno had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Desiderio Peyo. Carranza's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomás Madaleno was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. Maximiliano Shepherd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-6.

After having played for 52 minutes, Celedonio Abajas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Yucatan Chichén Itzá's supporters crossed their fingers, but Celedonio Abajas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Desiderio Peyo came out and tried to block the shot, but Zé Paulo Hermes slotted it home off the left post making it 0-7 in the 62nd minute. 66 minutes into the match, Zé Paulo Hermes notched a goal, 0-8, to the right of Carranza's Desiderio Peyo. Desiderio Peyo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpected shot in the 73rd minute by Maximiliano Shepherd got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Desiderio Peyo didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 80th minute, which inside left pole to 0-10. In the 84th minute Tarcisio Mello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celso Hartz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
