After 3 played minutes Jeronimo Berriotxoa rounded MXL FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Juan Sayvion sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeronimo Berriotxoa in the 8th minute of play forced MXL FC's goalkeeper Rodrigo Rios to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juan Sayvion received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Marcelo Barovero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jimeno Ofelio came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the MXL FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jimeno Ofelio couldn't finish the play. Jeronimo Berriotxoa took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rodrigo Rios. Rodrigo Rios dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After 23 minutes El Espolón del Gallo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Eustacio Lluc who took care of the corner kick. In the 25thth minute of the game Victor Gomez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but El Espolón del Gallo's Marcelo Barovero was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, El Espolón del Gallo's Esteve Ondino got a free kick in the 29th minute. Marcelo Barovero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jimeno Ofelio in the 33rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, El Espolón del Gallo's Ceferino Benat got a free kick in the 43rd minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jeronimo Berriotxoa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Cordarin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 61 played minutes El Espolón del Gallo got a freekick which was hit by Gualterio Jobo. In the 65th minute, one of El Espolón del Gallo:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for El Espolón del Gallo. Victor Gomez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Marcelo Barovero made a huge save. 72 minutes into the game, Jimeno Ofelio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Marcelo Barovero was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marcelo Barovero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jimeno Ofelio in the 76th minute of play. Marcelo Barovero didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Juan Sayvion went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. In the 85th minute, Victor Gomez reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marcelo Barovero. The goal made the score 2-5. Marcelo Barovero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jimeno Ofelio in the 88th minute of the match. In the 91st minute, MXL FC's Gogo Caitano seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Gogo Caitano the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of MXL FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Gogo Caitano had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 92nd minute, Gogo Caitano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 93rd minute, Ceferino Benat got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jeronimo Berriotxoa took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rodrigo Rios. Rodrigo Rios dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeronimo Berriotxoa in the 100th minute of play forced MXL FC's goalkeeper Rodrigo Rios to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The El Espolón del Gallo supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching MXL FC's performance. The match ended with a win for MXL FC.
