In the 10th minute of the match Union Teporochos got a corner. Hermosillo FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alejo Delfino ran over to the corner to take the kick. Union Teporochos's Alejo Delfino was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Samuel Evarado in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Mauricio Ekaitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mauricio Ekaitz's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Birger Albäck firmly grabbed it by the left post. Wilfredo Tauro kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 27th minute, but Birger Albäck got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Union Teporochos hanging dry this time. Birger Albäck made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mauricio Ekaitz in the 29th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Mauricio Ekaitz made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clemente Nesto in the 52nd minute of play forced Hermosillo FC's goalkeeper Samuel Evarado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 54thth minute of the game Mauricio Ekaitz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Union Teporochos's Birger Albäck was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 55th minute Mauricio Ekaitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Birger Albäck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 60 minutes into the match, Union Teporochos's goal looked a bit too open when Mauricio Ekaitz came free, but Birger Albäck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 90 minutes of play Union Teporochos's Cecilio Remigio was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 90th minute, Cecilio Remigio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th match minute, Union Teporochos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ubaldo Otoniel to maneuver through the defense.
