The corner led Santa Fe's Steve Rogers to fire away a dangerous shot which Jose Laffitte despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Ej. Hermosillo B.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Juan Fernando Pratto came free, but Jose Laffitte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ej. Hermosillo B.C.'s Jose Laffitte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Ramos in the 18th minute of play. In the 22nd minute Juan Fernando Pratto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose Laffitte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juan Fernando Pratto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Jose Laffitte made a huge save. After 70 played minutes Santa Fe got a freekick which was hit by Sandro Coisne. The audience thought a goal was coming when Romulo Lalla got free with Jose Laffitte in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jose Laffitte made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Romulo Lalla sent off a good shot on target. Romulo Lalla received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jose Laffitte came out and tried to block the shot, but Romulo Lalla slotted it home off the left post making it 0-5 in the 76th minute. Serafino Pancho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. After a rather tough play, Ej. Hermosillo B.C.'s Gaston Gaur got a free kick in the 92nd minute. After 94 minutes, Orvar Alegren mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ej. Hermosillo B.C. and the Santa Fe players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 94th minute, Orvar Alegren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Santa Fe's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
