Adolfo Galindo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tenis Penisson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. The supporters of Conalep 197 booed when Atletas Campesinos F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrado Mouricio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Atletas Campesinos F.C.'s Luís Hernandez got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Remigio Handi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an all-out effort, Conalep 197's Paulo Rosio threw himself towards the right post 35 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cesar Gustau, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Hernandez in the 37th minute of play forced Conalep 197's goalkeeper Tenis Penisson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luís Hernandez in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tenis Penisson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vladislav Viktorov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Paulo Rosio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Conalep 197's Tenis Penisson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Hernandez in the 45th minute of play. 46 minutes had been played when some careless play by Conalep 197's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ciro Ostadar was slow to take the kick. During this time Atletas Campesinos F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. After the first half Atletas Campesinos F.C. were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Cesar Gustau made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Dinei Corrêa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Conalep 197 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2.
