Fasters FC's Selvin Duarte got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julio Bran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rolando Leguizamon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Julio Bran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lorenzo Barreto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cesar Flores in the 28th minute of play. When the match clock showed 30 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Julio Bran sped through C.D Los Rayos's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Carlos Muñoz. 33 minutes into the game, Fasters FC's Omar Sandoval nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carlos Muñoz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 36th match minute, C.D Los Rayos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Collado to maneuver through the defense. Julio Bran might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlos Muñoz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Julio Bran ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 41st minute, Alfredo Aguirrez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fasters FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Julio Bran managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fasters FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Julio Bran was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Muñoz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cesar Flores was the one to do the kick off. Fasters FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance.
