With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felipe Parada in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Felipe Carballo saved Lytham from getting behind. Salvador Garay's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cesar Ventura read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. In the 44th minute, Adolfo Guardado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edgardo Pimentel kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Felipe Parada made a kick off.
