Stockport's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ramsey City the free kick. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Ramsey City's Erick Fernandez got control of the ball when Gilberto Villarreal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Allan Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Camilo Santamaria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Ramsey City booed when Stockport was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Dubon didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Ramsey City's Jhalmar Murgas got a free kick in the 21st minute. Gilberto Villarreal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edgardo Díaz might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Camilo Santamaria. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edgardo Díaz ran back to his position shaking his head. 26 minutes into the match, Edgardo Díaz notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Stockport's Camilo Santamaria. Camilo Santamaria was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Camilo Santamaria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgardo Díaz in the 33rd minute of play. In the 34th minute, Allan Baptista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gilberto Villarreal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Erick Fernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jorge Dubon came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Stockport fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Dubon couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Gilberto Villarreal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stockport's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilberto Villarreal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erick Fernandez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Erick Fernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Villarreal, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilberto Villarreal got free with Erick Fernandez in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edgardo Díaz to make the kick off. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ramsey City's goalkeeper Erick Fernandez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Erick Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Villarreal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ramsey City's Erick Fernandez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Villarreal in the 63rd minute of play. A collision led to Ramsey City getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Rolando Anaya hit a great ball. Stockport's Eliseo Villarreal got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Amilcar Posadas's late challenge caught a Ramsey City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amilcar Posadas helped the player get up and apologised. In the 76th minute, one of Stockport:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Stockport. Amilcar Gutierrez walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 83rd minute Edgardo Díaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Santamaria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Shawn Vinosis's late challenge caught a Ramsey City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Shawn Vinosis helped the player get up and apologised. In the 84th match minute, Stockport was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Shawn Vinosis to maneuver through the defense. The Stockport supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Ramsey City's performance. The match ended with a win for Ramsey City.
