Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Arturo Orellana started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Arturo Orellana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Januario Olmedo having to make a save. Mauricio Anaya fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alejandro Zepeda having to interfere. In the 25th match minute, Malmesbury was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raúl Pedrozo to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilber Medina in the 26th minute of play forced Malmesbury's goalkeeper Alejandro Zepeda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Arturo Orellana came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Malmesbury fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arturo Orellana couldn't finish the play. When Franklin Bermudez fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Whitworth's protests and gave Franklin Bermudez a yellow card for diving instead. Franklin Bermudez kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Leopoldo Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Alejandro Zepeda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Wilber Medina came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Whitworth fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilber Medina couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The wind increased when Wilber Medina made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mauricio Anaya in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alejandro Zepeda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 56th minute, Gabriel Velis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Januario Olmedo made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Milton Castro sent off a good shot on target. Milton Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Januario Olmedo having to interfere. Wilber Medina might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alejandro Zepeda. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wilber Medina ran back to his position shaking his head. Alejandro Zepeda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilber Medina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alejandro Zepeda didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wilber Medina went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. If Leopoldo Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilber Medina in the 93rd minute of play forced Malmesbury's goalkeeper Alejandro Zepeda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leopoldo Lara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Whitworth walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
