The referee ignored Orsett's protests and gave Arnoldo Pimentel a yellow card for diving instead. Arnoldo Pimentel kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. If Daniel Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luis Serrano charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luis Serrano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Macclesfield getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. After having played for 85 minutes, Alejandro Gamero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Macclesfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alejandro Gamero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Macclesfield's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
