In the 5th minute David Bran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Canales saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 8 minutes into the match, Kidlington's goal looked a bit too open when David Bran came free, but Carlos Canales reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Victorino Castillo could shoot a difficult shot in the 9th minute, which Carlos Canales however easily saved by the left post. Schalke 09's David Bran got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kidlington's Jaime Messias got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Roy McIan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jhonnatan Llorente, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Kidlington's Jaime Messias in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Schalke 09's goalie prevented a goal. Jhonnatan Llorente received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Roy McIan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jhonnatan Llorente struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Roy McIan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kidlington. Victorino Castillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Kidlington's zone, David Bran stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Canales came out of the goal and David Bran tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 44th minute, Isaac Asad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Avilio Mayen hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Victorino Castillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when David Bran made the kick off in the second half. Victorino Castillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 56th minute Victorino Castillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Canales saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Victorino Castillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64thth minute of the game David Bran who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kidlington's Carlos Canales was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Kidlington's zone, Victorino Castillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Canales came out of the goal and Victorino Castillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jaime Messias was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 76th minute. Kidlington's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Victorino Castillo might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlos Canales. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Victorino Castillo ran back to his position shaking his head. Carlos Canales was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Schalke 09 fully deserved thier win.
