Gabriel Carranza blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Odir Gallardo having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Havant's Ruben Llorente got a free kick in the 12th minute. Raúl Mayen charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Raúl Mayen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Havant getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Raúl Mayen hit a great ball. Marcos Palencia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saul Barreto having to interfere. Marcos Palencia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Saul Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcos Palencia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gabriel Carranza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The wind increased when Gabriel Carranza made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Havant getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Benji Prado hit a great ball. Marcos Palencia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saul Barreto having to interfere. Havant's Saul Barreto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Januario Villarreal in the 61st minute of play. If Waldir Larios had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 65 minutes into the match, Havant's Gabriel Carranza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Odir Gallardo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marcos Palencia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Gabriel Carranza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Wickford's supporters crossed their fingers, but Januario Villarreal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 80 minutes into the match, Havant's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Palencia came free, but Saul Barreto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Waldir Larios had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Waldir Larios managed to get in a good position for a shot. Havant's supporters rose to their feet, but Waldir Larios was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Odir Gallardo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gabriel Carranza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Wickford booed when Havant was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Odir Campos didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Benji Prado fell near the penalty area in the 98th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Havant's protests and gave Benji Prado a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Havant's Benji Prado got a free kick in the 98th minute. Havant's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
