The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Claudio Mondragon recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Januario Menjivar. Claudio Mondragon showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. If Joselito Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Deportivo Congolon getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Isaac Monzon hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the game, Julio Contrera was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bournemouth's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo Congolon the free kick. Julio Contrera kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Florencio Cartagena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 23 played minutes Bournemouth got a freekick which was hit by Arnoldo Figueroa. Nelson Flores showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florencio Cartagena in the 32nd minute of the match. With a little luck, Deportivo Congolon's Januario Menjivar got control of the ball when Raúl Henriquez tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Menjivar hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Florencio Cartagena made a kick off. If Florencio Cartagena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Ladislao Milio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Congolon's supporters rose to their feet, but Ladislao Milio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nelson Flores breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 60 minutes into the match, Deportivo Congolon's goal looked a bit too open when Raúl Henriquez came free, but Januario Menjivar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Januario Menjivar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raúl Henriquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 64 minutes into the match, Shawn Rico notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Deportivo Congolon's Januario Menjivar. Januario Menjivar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Raúl Henriquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Deportivo Congolon getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Ladislao Milio hit a great ball. When Bournemouth's Raúl Henriquez in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Menjivar in the 76th minute of play forced Deportivo Congolon's goalkeeper Januario Menjivar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Deportivo Congolon's Januario Menjivar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudio Mondragon in the 78th minute of play. Arnoldo Figueroa hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Claudio Mondragon scored 3-0 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Januario Menjivar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the Deportivo Congolon players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Bournemouth.
