An unexpectedly hard shot by Dagoberto Rivas in the 24th minute of play forced Gillingham FC's goalkeeper Franklin Barrera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gillingham FC's Ivan Mejia shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 25th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Camilo Baptista but with some difficulty. After 31 minutes, Milton Granados mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gillingham FC and the Stonehouse City players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 32nd minute, Francisco Navarro had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Deris Medina charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Deris Medina the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 34th match minute, Gillingham FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Deris Medina to maneuver through the defense. In the 41st minute, Milton Granados hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 44 minutes had been played when some careless play by Gillingham FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sarbelio Díaz was slow to take the kick. During this time Stonehouse City's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Sarbelio Díaz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Franklin Barrera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After the first half Stonehouse City were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Jorge Hernández fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franklin Barrera having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jorge Hernández during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Gillingham FC booed when Stonehouse City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Hernández didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 64 minutes, Douglas Dubon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gillingham FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Douglas Dubon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jorge Hernández struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Franklin Barrera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stonehouse City. After a defensive mix-up in Gillingham FC's zone, Jorge Hernández stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Franklin Barrera came out of the goal and Jorge Hernández tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jorge Hernández fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franklin Barrera having to interfere. When Francisco Serrano came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Stonehouse City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Serrano couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Gillingham FC's Milton Granados got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Humberto Salamanca took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Camilo Baptista. Camilo Baptista dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Jorge Hernández received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Franklin Barrera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gillingham FC's Franklin Barrera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Gillingham FC from getting a goal against them. Jorge Hernándezs short, quick shot in the 88thth minute got Franklin Barrera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Gillingham FC's Humberto Verdugo got a free kick in the 90th minute. Dagoberto Rivas hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Salamanca in the 93rd minute of play forced Stonehouse City's goalkeeper Camilo Baptista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Stonehouse City players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
