Shawn Suarez really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Rudy Montes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Salvador Alvarenga went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After having played for 54 minutes, Douglas Mejia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rothley's supporters crossed their fingers, but Douglas Mejia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Juan Osorio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shawn Suarez in the 63rd minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 66th minute of the game. One of Kettering:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Rothley:s goal. In the 74th minute, Manuel Llorente ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rudy Montes was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. If Salvador Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Shawn Suarez in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juan Osorio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Manuel Llorente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Rothley's Rudy Montes got control of the ball when Manuel Llorente tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rudy Montes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Salvador Alvarenga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kettering's Manuel Llorente got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Kettering booed when Rothley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernesto Corpeño didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rothley were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Kettering for a fine match.
