Club Deportivo Olimpia's Marcos Ribeiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Club Deportivo Olimpia from getting a goal against them. In the 4th match minute, Club Deportivo Olimpia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abraham Alferez to maneuver through the defense. If Max Viscarra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elias Messias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 12 played minutes Real España got a freekick which was hit by Wilber Hidalgo. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Real España's goalkeeper David Quintanilla, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Odir Corpeños short, quick shot in the 19thth minute got Marcos Ribeiro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 27 minutes, Waldir Llorente mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Real España and the Club Deportivo Olimpia players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Real España's Waldir Llorente got a free kick in the 27th minute. Real España's David Quintanilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yasir Torres in the 30th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Real España's Odir Corpeño sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcos Ribeiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Max Viscarra to make the kick off. David Quintanilla was a little too slow when Yasir Torres got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 51st minute. The score was now 0-2. In the 57th minute Odir Corpeño shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Ribeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Odir Corpeño fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Ribeiro having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Club Deportivo Olimpia's zone, Max Viscarra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcos Ribeiro came out of the goal and Max Viscarra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Odir Corpeño recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Odir Corpeño sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcos Ribeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Max Viscarra, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. 81 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Olimpia's goal looked a bit too open when Max Viscarra came free, but Marcos Ribeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yasir Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Quintanilla having to interfere. The Club Deportivo Olimpia players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
