The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 minutes of play, Wetherby FC's Franklin Cruz made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Yasir Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Claudio Coria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yasir Torres in the 20th minute of play. Marcos Ribeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franklin Cruz, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. If Jorge Coria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Jorge Coria, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 27 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Marcos Ribeiro was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The attack was good, but when Franklin Cruz in the 29th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. With a little luck, Wetherby FC's Claudio Coria got control of the ball when Elias Messias tried to sneak it across the goal line. Claudio Coria made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Elias Messias sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Wetherby FC's Benji Collado got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Franklin Cruz scored 0-2 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcos Ribeiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Franklin Cruz in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcos Ribeiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Messias in the 55th minute of play forced Wetherby FC's goalkeeper Claudio Coria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 61 minutes, Yasir Torres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Deportivo Olimpia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yasir Torres was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Messias in the 63rd minute of play forced Wetherby FC's goalkeeper Claudio Coria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yasir Torres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Elias Messias struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Claudio Coria didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Deportivo Olimpia. Wetherby FC's Franklin Cruz got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marcos Ribeiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jorge Coria in the 77th minute. In the 79th minute Yasir Torres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudio Coria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elias Messias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Claudio Coria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yasir Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudio Coria having to interfere. Elias Messias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Claudio Coria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wetherby FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
