It was a well-played corner which Leopoldo Vasquez managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Luis Rey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Fabio Cruz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Marathón players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Harlesden were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luis Rey was the one to do the kick off. If Januario Berrueta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Enrique Morales hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. 56 minutes into the match, Harlesden's goal looked a bit too open when Oswaldo Campos came free, but Salvador Zapata reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zelvin Pimentel hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Salvador Zapata made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oswaldo Campos in the 83rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Marathón's Claudio Figueroa got a free kick in the 84th minute. Marathón's Januario Berrueta got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Marathón supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Harlesden's performance. The match ended with a win for Harlesden.
