Eliseo Campos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jose Orobio having to interfere. After some careless play in the East Dereham FC defense, Claudio Figueroa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jose Orobio. The East Dereham FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jose Orobio should have stopped the shot. Oswaldo Campos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Oswaldo Campos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marathón's supporters rose to their feet, but Oswaldo Campos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jose Orobio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jose Orobio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oswaldo Campos's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Paolo Cabrera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marathón's Fabio Cruz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Marathón from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Januario Berrueta in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jose Orobio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 27th minute, Januario Berrueta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Marathón fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Eliseo Campos charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eliseo Campos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Giovani Ochoa during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to East Dereham FC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Giovani Ochoa hit a great ball. In the 45th minute of the match Sarbelio Santana shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jose Orobio showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, East Dereham FC's Marcos Menjivar got a free kick in the 47th minute. When Oswaldo Campos came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Marathón fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oswaldo Campos couldn't finish the play. The East Dereham FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Marathón were winning 0-2.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Oswaldo Campos in the 55th minute of play forced East Dereham FC's goalkeeper Jose Orobio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabio Cruz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Will Oporto in the 57th minute of play. Eliseo Campos hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Fabio Cruz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paolo Cabrera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabio Cruz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Will Oporto, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Paolo Cabrera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabio Cruz having to interfere. If Will Oporto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute, East Dereham FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Januario Berrueta fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 70 minutes, Milton Zepeda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Marathón and the East Dereham FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Marathón's Milton Zepeda got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 71st minute, Paolo Cabrera ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabio Cruz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Fabio Cruz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Will Oporto in the 76th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in East Dereham FC's zone, Oswaldo Campos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jose Orobio came out of the goal and Oswaldo Campos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paolo Cabrera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Fabio Cruz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Januario Berrueta struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Jose Orobio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marathón. The supporters of East Dereham FC booed when Marathón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Campos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, East Dereham FC's Giovani Ochoa got a free kick in the 96th minute. The East Dereham FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Marathón's performance. The match ended with a win for Marathón.
