Venganza's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Olimpia the free kick. In the 21st match minute, Venganza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Alas to maneuver through the defense. Antonio Mayen made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Luis Zepeda sent off a good shot on target. 23 minutes into the game, Luis Zepeda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Olimpia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venganza the free kick. After 23 played minutes Club Olimpia got a freekick which was hit by Luis Zepeda. If Luis Zepeda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antonio Mayen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luis Zepeda in the 29th minute. If Mauro Bautista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Venganza's Antonio Mayen got control of the ball when Luis Zepeda tried to sneak it across the goal line. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ricardo Guardado made a kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Eraldo Machado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venganza's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eraldo Machado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luis Zepeda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Antonio Mayen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Bautista, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Venganza's Antonio Mayen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Zepeda in the 60th minute of play. When Mauro Bautista came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Club Olimpia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauro Bautista couldn't finish the play. In the 73rd minute, Jaime Pedrozo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luis Zepeda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. The Venganza fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Antonio Mayen should have stopped the shot. In the 96th minute, Luis Zepeda made a precise shot to the right of Antonio Mayen. Venganza's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Club Olimpia fully deserved thier win.
