The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Edgardo Asad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 5 minutes into the match, DJSC's goal looked a bit too open when William Melendez came free, but Jorge Mejia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Hackney booed when DJSC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Medrano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edgardo Asad could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Diego Olmedo made a huge save. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind DJSC's goalkeeper Jorge Mejia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Elias Alvarenga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Mejia having to interfere. Shawn Martinez's late challenge caught a DJSC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Shawn Martinez helped the player get up and apologised. Edgardo Asad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Diego Olmedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jaime Medrano came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the DJSC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaime Medrano couldn't finish the play. Rolando Hidalgo kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Edgardo Rey, 39 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edgardo Asad got free with Diego Olmedo in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Hackney getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Shawn Martinez hit a great ball. Jaime Medrano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Diego Olmedo made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Edgardo Asad sent off a good shot on target. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jaime Medrano to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Edgardo Asad cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Diego Olmedo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jorge Mejia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from William Melendez in the 59th minute of play. 64 minutes into the game, Arnoldo Sanchez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. DJSC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hackney the free kick. Arnoldo Sanchez kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Elias Alvarenga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. William Melendez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Jorge Mejia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 74th minute of the game. One of DJSC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Hackney:s goal. In the 79thth minute of the game Edgardo Asad who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hackney's Diego Olmedo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Christian Braun kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Hackney's William Melendez got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. DJSC's Jorge Mejia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William Melendez in the 89th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Asad in the 91st minute of play forced Hackney's goalkeeper Diego Olmedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. William Melendez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Jorge Mejia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jorge Mejia acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 100th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Josue Guerrero. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Hackney had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
