Fabio Guevara hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Cleveleys's zone, Dennys Magaña stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilmer Rico came out of the goal and Dennys Magaña tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 29 minutes, Odir Hidalgo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C. Barcelona's supporters crossed their fingers, but Odir Hidalgo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dennys Magaña sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dennys Magaña in the 43rd minute of play forced Cleveleys's goalkeeper Wilmer Rico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Diego Ramirez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Diego Ramirez was the one to do the kick off. When Fabio Guevara fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored F.C. Barcelona's protests and gave Fabio Guevara a yellow card for diving instead. After 69 played minutes F.C. Barcelona got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Guevara. Odir Hidalgo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute, Leopoldo Najarro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 87th match minute, Cleveleys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Victorino to maneuver through the defense. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cleveleys's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. F.C. Barcelona played a much better game than Cleveleys and deserved their victory. The Cleveleys players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
