Januario Botello took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jorge Mejia. Jorge Mejia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Jaime Medrano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Efrain Hernández read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. The supporters of DJSC booed when Holmer Green was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josue Del Carmen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jaime Medrano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Januario Botello to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpected shot in the 53rd minute by Alonso Victorino got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 56th minute, Cesar Lovo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. DJSC's Jorge Mejia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alonso Victorino in the 62nd minute of play. When Januario Botello came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Holmer Green fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Januario Botello couldn't finish the play. Holmer Green's Alonso Victorino got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 74th minute Januario Botello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Mejia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Holmer Green booed when DJSC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oswaldo Zepeda didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Januario Botello's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jorge Mejia was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Jorge Mejia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Januario Botello, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
