After having played for 5 minutes, Edgardo Asad managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DJSC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgardo Asad was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Dennys Magaña had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge Mejia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Odir Hidalgo, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Jorge Mejia was a little too slow when Odir Hidalgo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 13th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 17th minute, Esteban Alfaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Odir Hidalgo hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Odir Hidalgo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jorge Mejia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Odir Hidalgo in the 26th minute of play forced DJSC's goalkeeper Jorge Mejia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jorge Mejia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Odir Hidalgo in the 28th minute of play. Jorge Mejia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Odir Hidalgo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Odir Hidalgo in the 35th minute of play forced DJSC's goalkeeper Jorge Mejia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 37 minutes into the match, DJSC's goal looked a bit too open when Odir Hidalgo came free, but Jorge Mejia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th match minute, DJSC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexis Parada to maneuver through the defense. Alexis Parada's late challenge caught a F.C. Barcelona's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alexis Parada helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of F.C. Barcelona booed when DJSC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexis Parada didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute of the match Milton Mejia sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jorge Mejia skillfully saved the ball. Jorge Mejia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Odir Hidalgo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jaime Medrano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dennys Magaña received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Jorge Mejia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Odir Hidalgo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 63rdth minute of the game Jaime Medrano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but F.C. Barcelona's Andrés Vinosis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Odir Hidalgo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Oswaldo Zepeda charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Oswaldo Zepeda the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dennys Magaña in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jorge Mejia saved DJSC from getting behind. With a little luck, F.C. Barcelona's Andrés Vinosis got control of the ball when Edgardo Asad tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 76th minute Odir Hidalgo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Mejia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 81 minutes, Wilber Mondragon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the DJSC and the F.C. Barcelona players grew even worse after the yellow card. 92 minutes into the match, Edgardo Asad had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Andrés Vinosis. F.C. Barcelona's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edgardo Asad was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After 95 played minutes DJSC got a freekick which was hit by Christian Braun. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
