Thanet's supporters rose to their feet, but Miguel Lara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marvin Medrano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hugo Rey charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hugo Rey the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Thanet getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. In the 46th minute of the match, Miguel Lara got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marvin Medrano was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
