Félix Fornos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristian Santamaria having to interfere. When Luis Cabrera fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Thanet's protests and gave Luis Cabrera a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Thanet getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Luis Cabrera hit a great ball. Olimpia's defense didn't have a chance, in the 31st minute, when Félix Fornos scored to the left of an out of position Cristian Santamaria, making the score, 2-0. Miguel Lara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cristian Santamaria read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Olimpia's Isaac Rodriguez got a free kick in the 36th minute. After 39 played minutes Félix Fornos rounded Olimpia's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-0. 43 minutes into the match, Olimpia's goal looked a bit too open when Félix Fornos came free, but Cristian Santamaria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edgar Ramirez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carmelo Pérez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. Omar Navas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edgar Ramirez came free with the goalkeeper in the 86th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Carmelo Pérez could save by the left post. Edgar Ramirez struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Carmelo Pérez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Olimpia. In the 89th minute, Yasir Del Carmen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Rey in the 93rd minute of play forced Olimpia's goalkeeper Cristian Santamaria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olimpia's Cristian Santamaria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Lara in the 96th minute of play. Thanet's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
