Gürsel Eyüp in the 8thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Blaise Gütermann, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 25 played minutes Estrella Roja got a freekick which was hit by Emiliano Aguilar. Aaron Freeman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Witomir Gaszynski in the 28th minute of the match. Abílio Assis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 41 minutes into the match, Estrella Roja's goal looked a bit too open when Rui de Queiroz came free, but Aaron Freeman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The Bahia Azul fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Blaise Gütermann should have stopped the shot. After 92 played minutes Estrella Roja got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Pedrozo.
