Eliseo Medina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Deris Olmedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Eliseo Medina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrique Velis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute, Mauro Guzman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The El Quetzal F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Marvin Nunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Coreas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 24 minutes into the game, Deris Olmedo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Eliseo Medina was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Victor Coreas's late challenge caught a Sherborne's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Victor Coreas helped the player get up and apologised. Victor Coreas hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Arnoldo Castaneda kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Angel Díaz was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 31st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Mauro Guzman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. El Quetzal F.C's Victor Coreas got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mauro Guzman struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Marvin Nunes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Quetzal F.C. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Coreas in the 37th minute of play forced Sherborne's goalkeeper Marvin Nunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the match, El Quetzal F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Deris Olmedo came free, but Eliseo Medina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marvin Nunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Coreas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Victor Coreas made the kick off in the second half. Enrique Velis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Eliseo Medina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Deris Olmedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marvin Nunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Coreas in the 58th minute of play. The supporters of Sherborne booed when El Quetzal F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelo García didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sherborne's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ulises Melendez in the 68th minute. The corner led to Sherborne's Félix Santamaria getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Eliseo Medina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enrique Velis in the 69th minute of play. Mauro Guzman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marvin Nunes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. When Ovidio Nunes fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Quetzal F.C's protests and gave Ovidio Nunes a yellow card for diving instead. Ovidio Nunes hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute Enrique Velis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseo Medina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 85 played minutes El Quetzal F.C got a freekick which was hit by Marcelo García. If Deris Olmedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 89 minutes into the game, Victor Coreas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Marvin Nunes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Victorino Gutierrez's late challenge caught a El Quetzal F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain.
