Penryn United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilber Melendez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Milton Fuentes came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Skipton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Milton Fuentes couldn't finish the play. In the 18th minute Alexis Villanueva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Allan Villarreal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexis Villanueva struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Allan Villarreal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Skipton. In the 41st minute, Alexis Villanueva left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Skipton fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 47 minutes into the game, Penryn United's Baltazar Cortez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Antonio Bermudez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wilber Melendez to strike the kick off in the second half. Milton Fuentes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Allan Villarreal having to interfere. In the 56th match minute, Penryn United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Humberto Pinho to maneuver through the defense. If Alexis Villanueva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltazar Cortez in the 61st minute of play forced Skipton's goalkeeper Antonio Bermudez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Penryn United's Allan Villarreal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Penryn United from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Penryn United's zone, Milton Fuentes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Allan Villarreal came out of the goal and Milton Fuentes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 75th minute Baltazar Cortez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonio Bermudez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 79thth minute of the game Alexis Villanueva who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Penryn United's Allan Villarreal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 1-2 became the score in the 80th minute when Alexis Villanueva elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 84th minute Baltazar Cortez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonio Bermudez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilber Melendez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 89 played minutes Skipton got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Peredes. When Penryn United's Baltazar Cortez, in the 91st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Penryn United. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Skipton walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
