Joselito Paz might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emiliano Ortiz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joselito Paz ran back to his position shaking his head. 17 minutes into the match, Giovani Alferez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emiliano Ortiz. Morecambe's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Giovani Alferez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Emiliano Ortiz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giovani Alferez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Giovani Alferez might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emiliano Ortiz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. After recieving a nice pass, Morecambe's Primitivo Salguero tried to score from far away in the 29th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Augusto Machado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Allan Hidalgo in the 35th minute of play. Morecambe's Rafael Hurtado got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Stockbridge United getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Guillermo Castaneda hit a great ball. In the 41st minute, Felipe García left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Morecambe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 46th minute, Stockbridge United's Giovani Alferez ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Emiliano Ortiz. Emiliano Ortiz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joselito Paz to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafael Hurtado got free with Augusto Machado in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Carmelo Berrueta's late challenge caught a Morecambe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carmelo Berrueta helped the player get up and apologised. After a defensive mix-up in Stockbridge United's zone, Allan Hidalgo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Augusto Machado came out of the goal and Allan Hidalgo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emiliano Ortiz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stockbridge United. 76 minutes into the match, Morecambe's goal looked a bit too open when Giovani Alferez came free, but Emiliano Ortiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Odir Carranza took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 79th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Emiliano Ortiz. Morecambe's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Rafael Hurtado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute.
