Mariano Rivera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Countesthorpe City. After having played for 10 minutes, Rudy Ocampo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Countesthorpe City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rudy Ocampo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Claudio Guevara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flitwick's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudio Guevara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nelson Melendez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 23 minutes into the match, Flitwick's goal looked a bit too open when Rudy Ocampo came free, but Mariano Rivera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute Luis Santana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelson Melendez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claudio Guevara succeeded in the game's 28th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. Januario Ocampo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Rudy Ocampo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mariano Rivera was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Januario Ocampo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Countesthorpe City's supporters rose to their feet, but Januario Ocampo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mariano Rivera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Januario Ocampo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Mariano Rivera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 46 played minutes Flitwick got a freekick which was hit by Benjamín Suarez. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rudy Ocampo in the 49th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mariano Rivera saved Flitwick from getting behind. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luis Santana was the one to do the kick off. Nelson Melendez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Santana in the 54th minute of play. In the 58th minute Januario Ocampo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mariano Rivera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rudy Ocampo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mariano Rivera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Countesthorpe City's Nelson Melendez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Countesthorpe City from getting a goal against them. Flitwick's Mariano Rivera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rudy Ocampo in the 69th minute of play. Flitwick's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cesar Villacorta in the 74th minute. The corner ended in Cesar Villacorta almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Countesthorpe City's Nelson Melendez did a great save. Nelson Melendez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Santana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erick Vinosis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Mariano Rivera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Max Alvarado fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Countesthorpe City's protests and gave Max Alvarado a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Countesthorpe City getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Max Alvarado hit a great ball. Claudio Guevara struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Nelson Melendez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Flitwick. The Flitwick supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Flitwick would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
