The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 12 played minutes, Bury St Edmunds's Fidel Zapata shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Andrés Padilla came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bury St Edmunds reached it. When Alexander Medrano came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Bury St Edmunds fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexander Medrano couldn't finish the play. 29 minutes into the match, Market Harborough United's goal looked a bit too open when Deris Mendez came free, but Andrés Padilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexander Medrano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 35th minute, Nicolás Guerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bury St Edmunds's Fidel Zapata couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 36th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Market Harborough United. Market Harborough United's Andrés Padilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Market Harborough United from getting a goal against them. In the 40th minute, Nicolás Guerra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ramon Del Carmen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rudy Molina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th match minute, Market Harborough United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victorino Hernández to maneuver through the defense. Alexander Medrano struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Andrés Padilla didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bury St Edmunds. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

If Alexander Medrano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 71 minutes into the match, Market Harborough United's goal looked a bit too open when Alexander Medrano came free, but Andrés Padilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Andrés Padilla came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Bury St Edmunds's Alexander Medrano. But to his dismay, Alexander Medrano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Giovani Anaya during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Bury St Edmunds getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Giovani Anaya hit a great ball. Manuel Cerna kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Benji Gamero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Andrés Padilla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Market Harborough United's Andrés Padilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander Medrano in the 91st minute of play. A collision led to Bury St Edmunds getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Fidel Zapata hit a great ball. Bury St Edmunds were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
