After 4 played minutes Dereham got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Arango. 5 minutes into the match, Dereham's goalkeeper Roberto Leiva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sarbelio Quijada. Max Duarte hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. The attack was good, but when Arturo Alvarenga in the 9th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Francisco Quintanilla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dereham's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Quintanilla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Humberto Flores breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 14 minutes into the match, Dereham's Arturo Alvarenga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Humberto Flores narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Jhalmar Meza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Pondersbridge's Jhalmar Meza in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Dereham's goalie prevented a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emerson Gutierrez during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jhalmar Meza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th minute, one of Dereham:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Dereham. Francisco Quintanilla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Flores having to interfere. Dereham's Roberto Leiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Dereham from getting a goal against them. If Jhalmar Meza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francisco Quintanilla stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 54 minutes, Arturo Alvarenga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dereham's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arturo Alvarenga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Jhalmar Meza came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Pondersbridge fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jhalmar Meza couldn't finish the play. Abraham Santamaria hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Misael Montes, 64 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 76th minute, Jhalmar Meza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Roberto Leiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jhalmar Meza in the 80th minute of play. Sarbelio Quijada hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Francisco Quintanilla struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Humberto Flores didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dereham. Alejandro Pineda kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
