In the 40th minute, Jose Medina left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Melton Mowbray FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. When Alfredo Cerritos fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Blackburn AFC's protests and gave Alfredo Cerritos a yellow card for diving instead. Alfredo Cerritos hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match.

Leonel García tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 76 played minutes Blackburn AFC got a freekick which was hit by Douglas Martinez. If Milton Collado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melton Mowbray FC played a much better game than Blackburn AFC and deserved their victory. The Blackburn AFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
