After 7 played minutes New Cross got a freekick which was hit by Hector Mejia. New Cross's Cesar Hidalgo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save New Cross from getting a goal against them. New Cross's Cesar Hidalgo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelson Salinas in the 14th minute of play. When Luis Fernandez came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the New Cross fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Fernandez couldn't finish the play. 21 minutes had been played when some careless play by Leytonstone AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gilberto Quintanilla was slow to take the kick. During this time New Cross's players had a chance to rest. After 26 minutes, Esteban Pacheco made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. New Cross's Cesar Hidalgo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Nelson Salinas took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Cesar Hidalgo to make any attempt to save it. With an all-out effort, Leytonstone AFC's Cesar Hidalgo threw himself towards the right post 45 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nelson Salinas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Luis Fernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot. New Cross's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Fernandez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Baltazar Figueroa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Nelson Salinas made the kick off in the second half. When Esteban Pacheco, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 52 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Cesar Hidalgo was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cesar Guardado during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gilberto Quintanilla shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Nelson Salinas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesar Hidalgo having to interfere. In the 62nd match minute, New Cross was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emiliano Galdamez to maneuver through the defense. Esteban Pacheco struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Cesar Hidalgo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leytonstone AFC. David Zepeda hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. In the 80th minute, Gilberto Leiva sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and New Cross's Cesar Hidalgo didn't even have to move. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelson Salinas in the 81st minute of play forced New Cross's goalkeeper Cesar Hidalgo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zelvin Villalobos in the 84th minute of play forced Leytonstone AFC's goalkeeper Baltazar Figueroa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd minute, Nelson Salinas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 95 minutes, Zelvin Villalobos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New Cross's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zelvin Villalobos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zelvin Villalobos in the 98th minute of play forced Leytonstone AFC's goalkeeper Baltazar Figueroa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leytonstone AFC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of New Cross for a fine match.
