Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 20 minutes into the match, Murcielagos FC's goalkeeper Ulises Villarreal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arturo Pacheco. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Erazo in the 24th minute of play forced Santa Lucia Cotzumalguapa's goalkeeper Roman Parajewski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ovidio Zelaya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manuel Navas kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 34th match minute, Santa Lucia Cotzumalguapa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernesto Ramirez to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 52 minutes, Ovidio Zelaya managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santa Lucia Cotzumalguapa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ovidio Zelaya was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ulises Villarreal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ovidio Zelaya, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Ulises Villarreal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernesto Ramirez in the 56th minute of play. Ulises Villarreal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Domen Grubelnik in the 85th minute of the match. Roman Parajewski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Erazo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Santa Lucia Cotzumalguapa made a substitution.
