In the 17thth minute of the game Joselito Ortiz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Accrington's Diego Brizuela was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Diego Brizuela stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joselito Ortiz's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. When Ruben Rey fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Accrington's protests and gave Ruben Rey a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Soul´s Anchor Tattoo booed when Accrington was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruben Rey didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Diego Salguero took a quick shot and it went in 5-0 without a chance for Diego Brizuela to make any attempt to save it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After 51 minutes of play Accrington's Ruben Rey was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. If Diego Salguero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
